Thanks. I tried your warm up before I played on Sunday. Like you mentioned, I could tell a difference. I spent 15 minutes going through a variety of the warm-ups. I had 30 minutes between a warm-up and performance. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Your lessons are very unique and cover things the other ones don't.

No lie, this is like the only speed picking lesson where someone actually guides you how to speed picking instead of just showing off. This is helping me a lot, thanks man!!!

Hello Mr. Van Wert,
I fairly recently discovered your channel here on youtube and was quickly captivated by your videos. You have a great technical ability and a sense of self awareness for what you are doing that is refreshing. I've watched a number of instructional videos from great and not so great guitarists that may or may not have something good to share, but I usually find these videos to have often "fatal" elements to the them; the person feels sterile/cold in there delivery and often without a sense of central focus like "to become a better musician," they are just throwing out a lick or 2 you can learn for better or for worse. You also know the science of what's going on which I really appreciate; I always liked science and math in school and am still surprised how musicians/artists could want to distance themselves from that aspect or just not care one way or the other given how inherent it is to art and beneficial to know. I also feel like you are just telling it like it is, which I find oddly rare. I've heard in martial arts circle that for who knows how many centuries the master would not teach there disciple(s) all their secrets for fear that they would surpass their ability and kill them. I don't see why this same mentality seems to occur with musicians. Maybe I'm reading to far into some of these videos and please forgive my rambling but I get this strong sense of secrecy and or misinformation in a lot of videos at times that if deliberate is quite a sad state of affairs.
But anyway, Thank You for everything you have put out there ...

Your books !
Greetings Robot,
It's going insane !!! Even the warm-up exercises were enough to make me feel the difference. I normally did a warming up with stretches and everything for about 20 minutes. But now I also do 45 minutes of warming up exercises just like in the book, it works great!!!
I have to tell you that I got personal lessons from
Hollands best guitar player Marcel Coenen, but the
things he tought me about picking and good technique is NOTHING compared to your book!
I write all the progress down and can't wait to see how much I've improved in a month time!
You'll hear more from me soon!
Thanks! Cheers,
Ridvan

I ordered the "discount" technique book. I'm reading it right now, and it's really neatly laid out. Some sentences really had me scratch my head because they seemed to sum up my problems with practicing pretty good.

Hello, I just wanted to say I'm very much looking forward to your new instructional program. I had previously purchased your original instructional and found it to be tremendously helpful and inspiring. I particularly liked the essays and treatises about the learning and metaphysical aspects, from which I gather, will be
expanded upon in the new instructional. So, thank you for taking the time to author these materials as well as your youtube videos.
You are an incredible musician as well as an educator.
Thanks again,
Daniel
